MFOPD Condemns Mental Health Stunt in Carnival

MFOPD Secretary General Massimo Ellul, by means of a Facebook post, condemned the actions of a number of carnival revellers who opted to make fun of persons with mental disabilities and/or have mental health issues. The condemnation reverberated throughout the social media, with various NGO members of MFOPD, Maltese personalities, politicians from all sides and the Commissioners for Persons with Disability and also for Mental Health, taking the same stand as MFOPD. The condemnation was also repeated by Her Excellency the President of Malta. MFOPD council was appreciative of the huge wave of public support and also the general condemnation of such uncalled-for acts which spread like wildfire throughout the social media on the days in question.
